New Library Design

The design for the "Learning Curve" at the Indianapolis Public Library is conceived around 4 key ideas: 1) Envisioning the library as place, 2) A space to work in collaboration, 3) Technology is a central feature, 4) Consolidate special activity spaces. The goal is to attract a new student population that have heightened expectations and demands on libraries because of the new approaches to learning. The model breaks away from the traditionally formal and quite reading room to a space of engagement, collaboration and exploration. This is to say make it fun.
